Parham House Bridal
Parham House Bridal has been voted ‘outstanding’ by brides in the 2016 Wedding Industry Awards. Owner Susan Hinckley has been a designer and retailer of wedding gowns since 1981 and has supplied Harrods and Liberty. The designers stocked are Suzanne Neville, Claire Pettibone, La Sposa by Pronovias, Sanyukta Shrestha, Ti Adora and Lou Lou. Customers will also find bridesmaid and special occasion dresses by JLM. Bridal gowns are priced from £850 to £3,500.
Butterflies Lingerie is a family-run business whose philosophy is to provide customers with a lovely, relaxed shopping environment and a high standard of service. It offers a range of nightwear, swimwear, lingerie for brides, special occasions, sports, etc.
Abbi Chapel Bridal
near Taunton, Somerset
Abbi Chapel Bridal is based in a lovely converted barn in the countryside. Designers that Abbi Chapel stock are Couture Collection with its hand embroidery and Swarovski crystal detailing, Eva Ellen Couture, Late Blooming Collection 50+, a range of wedding gowns for the mature bride, and Curve Couture aimed at women from sizes 18 up to 34.
Orchid lingerie & bra fitting service
Owner Sheri-jane Jackson is so passionate about the importance of good-fitting lingerie that her philosophy is: ‘You wouldn’t wear the wrong size shoes, so why wear the wrong size bra?’ The Corset Chalet offers a fitting service by appointment so that everyone gets total privacy. The range of lingerie includes shape wear for bridal and special occasions, sports and fitness bras, mastectomy bras, and pre- and post-natal lingerie.
Rookery Bridal is an independent Boutique stocking Designer wedding gowns from Essense of Australia, Justin Alexander, Lillian West, Paloma Blanca and Adriana Alier. They are also stockists for Richard Designs (veils, tiaras, shrugs, jackets, flower girl dresses), OnlyWay, Twilight, Tiffany’s and Dessy (bridesmaids) and more! It is run by Sarah, Emma & Alice who are all experts in their field who look forward to welcoming you.
Perfect Day Bride has a selection of classic and contemporary designers: Jesus Peiro, Charlie Brear, Eliza Jane Howell, Annasul Y, Naomi Neoh and up-and-coming Australian bridal designer Anna Campbell. Prices for dresses start at £1,600 and go up to £3,000. It also stocks twobirds bridesmaid collection.
Flossy and Willow Bridal Studio is the sister business to Perfect Day Bridal and in the same shop. They stock bridal dresses and accessories that ‘look fantastic without costing the earth’: prices start at £900 and go up to £1,500. Designers are: Watters, Paloma Blanco, Lusan Mandongus and UK designer Benjamin Roberts.
14 & Sixpence
14 & Sixpence has a selection of traditional and contemporary designs from Enzoani, Watters, Eternity and Brides by Harvee, Dessey and Tara Lee and Ruby Prom. Every bride who buys a dress receives a good luck charm – a complimentary sixpence – based on the classic English rhyme ‘Something old, something new’.
ABC Wedding Dresses
ABC Wedding Dresses is based in the Grade II listed Kelways building. They stock over 400 different designs of bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. The designers are: Alfred Angelo, Ronald Joyce, Hillary Morgan, Goy and Hermione. Bridal gowns are available from size 8 to 30 and certain dresses can be ordered up to size 40. Owner Caryl Kendal, who has been in the wedding business for 28 years, says her philosophy is to give the bride a fun and relaxed time. ABC Wedding Dresses also offer evening and prom wear. Prices for bridal gowns range from £200 to £1,200.
Kate Walker Bridal
Kate Walker Bridal is a wedding dress designer who offers a bespoke service in the privacy of her boutique. During the bride’s one-and-a-half-hour appointment, Kate works out what shapes suit the bride and will make design changes to the dress. She stocks up to 40 dresses: designers Augusta Jones, Lou Lou Bridal and Louise Bentley plus her own Kate Walker collection.
Foss St, Dartmouth
Juste Moi has been in business for six years and specialises in French designer lingerie and swimwear. A team of expert fitters will give advice on how to best flatter and accentuate your body. They cater for woman who want lingerie for everyday wear and special occasions. French brands include Lise Charmel, Aubade, Empreinte, Marie Jo, Prima Donna and Wacoal. Juste Moi also stocks silk and satin nightwear and his and her swimwear. Plus size lingerie is also available.
The Wedding Company
The Wedding Company sell chic and classic designer wedding gowns, bridesmaid and prom dresses. Bridal gown designers are: Charlotte Balbier, Pronovias, Hollywood Dreams, Sophia Tolli, W1 and Eternity/Art Couture. Bridesmaid designers include: Dessy, Amanda Wyatt and Alfred Sung. The Wedding Company also offer a range of suits, shoes and accessories for purchase or hire to ensure the groomsmen are ready for the big day.
Pirouette The Collection
Pirouette is housed in a 16th century merchant’s house in the old West Quarter of Exeter. They stock designers Maggie Sottero, Alice Temperley, Yolan Cris, Sottero and Midgley. Pirouette The Collection is always changing and they also stock beautiful veils, jewellery and Rainbow Club shoes.
The Ivory Secret, Crediton
Showcasing a number of designer gowns and offer a bespoke design and dressmaker service. Bridesmaid dresses are also made-to-measure. The designers are Annasul Y, Belle & Bunty, Louise Bentley, Catherine Deane, Eleanor Rafferty and LM by Lusan Mandongus, as well as Rainbow Club wedding shoes, veils and headpieces by Rachel Simpson and Kye Tew. Prices for wedding gowns start at £1,095. The Ivory Secret offers a sample sale.
St James Parade, Bath
Twice winner of a regional wedding award, Krystle Brides is owned by Krystle Herbert-Worgan who has worked in the wedding industry for seven years. She started her business five years ago and is delighted that it has been chosen for the second running as the winner of the Bristol & Somerset Wedding Awards in the bridal boutique category 2017. Krystle Brides stocks a number of leading wedding dress designers including Ellis Bridals, Augusta Jones, Maggie Sottero, Ronald Joyce and Mia Mia. Bridesmaid dresses by Enzoani, Kelsey Rose and Ronald Joyce are also available. There are shoes and veils by Rainbow Club as well as other wedding accessories.

Clifton Brides is now in its 27th year of trading and stocks leading national and international designers such as Love Marley, Lillian West, Ti Adora, Augusta Jones and Snow by Annasul Y. The bridal shop overlooking the picturesque Clifton Downs was voted regional winner in the 2016 Wedding Industry Awards. The staff of four have 60 years’ experience between them. They do their alterations in-house and also offer a dressing service on the wedding day.
Perfect Fit are experts in measuring and fitting lingerie. For the past 30 years the trained staff have been advising customers about the fitting of swimwear, nightwear, lingerie for special occasions, bridal, sports, postnatal and women who have had mastectomies.
The Bridal Room

The Bridal Room is in the quaint village of Westbury-on-Trym. It is a small family-run business that stocks around 150 dresses ranging from £350 to £2,000. They stock some of the leading names in bridal wear: Alfred Angelo, Allure, Sophia Tolli, Blossom, Cabotine, Eliza Jane Howell, Mori Lee, St Patrick, Joyce Jackson veils and Angel B Bridesmaids. They also have one of the largest collections of prom wear in the area.
The Bridal House of Cornwall
The Bridal House of Cornwall has helped create what is referred to as the Truro bridal quarter. ‘Give us the vision and we can style it,’ is the ethos of the bridal boutique, which has everything under one roof at The Old Mansion House.
Owner Kelly Scoble set up the business three years ago. ‘We have a young, vibrant team who help create the vision that the bride has of her day.’ A consultation begins in ‘The Boudoir’ – a huge bespoke fitting room complete with an elevated catwalk. The idea is for the bride to get a good feel of her selected dresses. She has a chance to do a full walk and look from every angle in a three-way mirror. One of the stylists will take photographs of the bride in her favourite dresses. The bride can see the photographs on a screen while relaxing in the ‘Viewing Library’ over glasses of bubbly.
The Bridal House of Cornwall offers designer gowns, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, veils, headdresses, lingerie and accessories. Designers include: Naomi Neoh, Claire Pettibone, House of Mooshki, Justin Alexander, Lusan Mandongus, Sophia Tolli, Cara Mia Woman, Catherine Deane, Christina Wu Occasions, Maids to Measure and The Dessy Group. Prices start at £1,000 and go up to £4,000. There is also a sale of sample dresses from £500 to £1,300. Alterations can be done by seamstress Linda Stuart who has her studio in the house. There is also a make-up artist, hairdresser and a beauty therapist on site. The team can schedule hair and make-up trials before the first dress fitting to make sure that the look works with the dress.
Rosella Wedding Gowns
Rosella Wedding Gowns has been in business for more than 20 years and is run by husband and wife team, Steve and Beryl Tudge. They stock around 30 dresses and the designers are Maggie Sottero, Sottero and Midgley, Hollywood Dreams Bridal, Ellis, Liliana and Donna Salado bridal. Their in-house seamstress does all the alterations.
Trousseaux Bridal Studio has been supplying designer wedding dresses to brides since 2008. Owner, South African born Vicki Bruce, bought the business in 2015. ‘I’ve always loved anything to do with weddings so owning a bridal business is a dream come true’. The studio has a Skype mirror which brides can use if they want to show their dream dress to friends and family living a distance or abroad.
The designers Trousseaux stock are: Eddy K, LouLou, Ronald Joyce, Sophie Camilla, Victoria Jane and White Rose. Trousseaux also sells Dessy and Ronald Joyce bridesmaid dresses. For those looking for prom dresses there are evening gowns ideal for prom and bridesmaid dresses.
Cherished Bridal Wear
Cherished Bridal Wear has Alfred Angelo gowns to order as well as pre-loved and ex-samples ready-to-wear gowns by Maggie Sottero, Benjamin Roberts, Stella York, Justin Alexander, Mori Lee, Pronovius, Ronald Joyce, Martina Liana and San Patrick. Pre-loved gowns need to be dry-cleaned and are sold on a commission basis. Appointments are needed.
Wedding Time stocks Stella York, Phil Collins Bridal, Olivia Grace, Romantica of Devon, Sacha James & Alexia. Wedding Time also hire men’s formal and evening wear. Slim-fit tailored suits are also available in various blues.
New Forest and Dorset Brides
New Forest and Dorset Brides has 50 bridal gowns in stock priced from £750 to £2,000. Designers are: Kenneth Wilson, Beautiful Brides Plus, Ella Rosa, Femme and Colour. Owner Claire Bailey specialises in offering styles for curvy women and she also offers ex-sample dresses from £200 to £600, prom wear and menswear hire through Alfred Angelo.
Jadie Leigh Bridal Boutique
Ebbw Vale, Wales
Jadie Leigh opened her business in Gwent in July 2013. She loves the wedding industry. ‘It is extremely rewarding to know that I take part in making dreams come true,’ she says. Her collection includes gowns by Alfred Angelo, Venue Bridal and Ellis Bridals. Accessories available are by Richard Designs and Twilight Designs. Jadie Leigh Bridal Boutique also stocks prom dresses by Blush Prom and Eternity Prom. Bridal gowns start at £500 and go up to £1,400.
Carol’s Bridal & Proms
Carol’s Bridal & Proms is based in Bargoed and has been in business for over 40 years. Throughout the years they have dressed many hundreds of brides and now sell to the grand daughters of some of those brides. The designers they stock include Mori Lee, Romantica and Richard Designs. They also cater for plus size brides with Mori Lee Julietta Larger Size. As well as bridal wear, the business sells Prom dresses and offers menswear hire in sizes for men and boys. Prince Edward suits are currently proving to be the most popular. There are mix and match accessories.
Rhondda Cyon Taf
Bridal Box is a family-run business which opened in 2013 in the small village of Pontyclun. A member of The Wedding Guild of Wales, they pride themselves on their service and collection of gowns. Designers they stock are: Alfred Angelo, Ronald Joyce, Victoria Jane, Sophia Tolli, True Bride and Modeca. Bridal Box also sell bridesmaids dresses by Alfred Angelo, Ronald Joyce and True Bride. As well as wedding gowns, Bridal Box can offer a choice of Cameron Ross suits for hire including Highland wear. Even the pooch in your life can be included in the wedding celebrations. The in-house seamstress will design and make a dog tux to match the fabric of the men’s suits after a measurement fitting!

Sample dresses in stock start from size 12 to 20 but gowns can be ordered from size 2 to 30. Orders take up to five months. Prices start at £800 and go up to £2,000. Find a Dress Bridalwear also stock the Sorella Vita Bridesmaids collection. There is an ‘in house’ seamstress.
Not Just Brides

Not Just Brides is a family-owned business run by sister-in-laws Claire Abbott and Justine Curtis. They offer designer gowns by Victoria K and Romantica. Sample dresses range from size 6 to 22 but brides can order gowns from size 2 to 36. Orders take up to four months. There are off-the-peg- dresses. Prices start at £500 and go up to £1,300. Not Just Brides also stock Romantica and Alexia bridesmaid dresses and accessories such as bespoke tiaras, shoes and handbags. Men’s formal hire is also available, including traditional tails, waistcoats, dinner jackets and lightweight mohair suits in a variety of colours. There is also an ‘in house’ seamstress.
