3 fabulous mother of the bride designers 2016 collection thumb

We are poised on the cusp of an exciting new year. 2016 promises new designs, colours and styles flooding in from our designers. Not only that, but weddings hats and increasingly, hatinators are being seen as the perfect way to complete an outfit. Let’s take a closer look at what to expect from three fabulous designers of dresses and the different ways each one has put their creative ideas into colour and fabric.

Regine Ellis – John Charles

For many years we have had Regine Ellis designs of the superb John Charles collection, part of the Ellis Bridal Group. For the 2016 season, she has excelled herself yet again with pretty embossed designs and lace overlays have been used to create further dimension along with silk jacquards. Lace will really take centre-stage, with many of the dresses incorporating an elegant laced sleeve continuing in unique styles. This results in a very usable dress for other occasions, and creates illusion necklines. As with previous designs, the bolero style jacket is available with many of the dresses, allowing a change from formal wear during the day, to a relaxed reception after. Colours include Sea Mist, Crisp Ivory, Cornflower, and Platinum variations.

Mariam Poorsalehi – Condici

Secondly, we have Mariam Poorsalehi, head of design at Condici, one of our major houses. She visits New York every year where her fantastic fabric suppliers inspire her to be innovative, but also to create clothes which are wearable not just for weddings, but other special events too. Condici are well known for using georgette, silk and ruching to great effect and often their dresses come with a bolero or jacket to allow for day and evening use. Mariam’s creations are stunning and beautifully made, we are very pleased to be stocking the new designs from Condici for 2016. The colours you can expect to see include,
vibrant calypso pink, champagne, silver birch, pink peony, crystal, navy blues with cream, pearl and gold spice. Not only are these designs great for weddings, but they really are very versatile and can be worn without the jacket as a lovely cocktail dress for lots of other occasions and events.
